Get Inspired: Amon Carter Museum Edition III

"Let great works of art inspire your crafting with this interactive tour and demonstration from national author and designer Vickie Howell, most well-known as the host and creative consultant of DIY Network and HGTV’s show Knitty Gritty. Refreshments and a book signing of Howell’s latest book, Craft Corps: Celebrating the Creative Community One Story at a Time, following the tour."

Their event flyer can be found here.

This will be their 4th "Crafting from the Collection" event which is FREE and features a tour of 3 or 4 featured works of art. They will provide sketching paper and pencils at the event, or you can bring your own sketch pad and paper. Important to note: Pens are not allowed.

After viewing the art and discussion, there will be a crafting demo focused on a featured project, followed by some free time for socializing and refreshments. The demos at these events are taught by several people people to insure project variety. At the last event, they learned how to make some folded fabric flowers. Another important note: Other than the demo, crafting supplies are not allowed in the museum.

This sounds like a great opportunity to get out of the house, learn a new craft, meet fellow local crafters, and get inspired! So, go check it out and see what inspires you.

Don't forget to send your finished crafty project pictures to so they can be featured on the Amon Carter Museum's Fan Page!
