What Does Crafting Do For You - Giveaway

What does crafting do you for you? For me, crafting is serenity. It is comforting to know that even in the midst of chaos, I can sit down in front of my sewing machine and rest assured that when I press on that pedal, the presser foot will move the fabric forward and the machine will sew. Crafting is control and balance in a world that is pretty much always unbalanced. But what is crafting to you?

This week's giveaway is sponsored by Team Dorsey Designs, a home based jewelry business that Mandy and her family started to share their love of being "fans." Team Dorsey Designs creates pendants to help you support whoever you believe in, whether it be a team, a person, a school, etc.. the sky is the limit! Their jewelry is a great way to give a thoughtful, personalized gift to someone you love.

One lucky DFW Craft Shows reader will WIN a 2 sided pendant customized with the design of YOUR choice. You may choose your Favorite NFL team, College or your son or daughters team w/name and/or number to go on a 16" matching beaded necklace (value of $40) OR bracelet (value of $30). The item will be made to your specifications and shipped within 48 hours of receipt of your design/customization information.

How to enter: Simply leave a comment (here or on Facebook) and tell us what crafting does for you. Don't forget to leave an email address if your blogger profile is private, otherwise, I will have no way of contacting you!

Contest ends at 10:00PM on Tuesday, September 28th. Winners will be announced the morning of Wednesday, September 29th, 2010.

Are you interested in sponsoring one of our giveaways and having your business listed on our site as shown above? Email me at dfwcraftshows@gmail.com for more information!

Thanks for your support!

I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of your for your support of DFWCraftShows.com! There are lots of ways to support the site, and I love to receive so many wonderful emails asking how you can do just that. Here are just a few ways that readers are keeping DFWCraftShows running like a well-oiled machine:

  • Ad Space on DFWCraftShows
Advertising on DFWCS is a great way to keep your crafty services, shows, and creations on the front page, and every page, of our website. Rates start as low as $5 / month and all funds go towards the maintenance and promotion of DFWCS. Don't have a banner? We also offer banner ad creation services for an additional price. More info here.

  • Sponsor a Giveaway
Help us keep traffic coming to the site and people all over North Texas engaged on DFWCS by hosting a giveaway! All it takes is a little info and a product value of $20 or more. More info here.

  • Donate
You may have noticed that cute little yellow donate button that appeared top-left on DFWCraftShows.com a few days ago. I fought adding this button to the site for a while; it didn't seem right to ask anyone for help since I took on this challenge myself. But, you emailed and requested a way to donate to the site, and so I have obliged.

If the site helps you find new shows, new artists, or just puts a smile on your face: maybe you want to give something back. So, I have created this donation link where you can click to donate as little as $1 or as much as you would like. All funds will go towards the promotion and upkeep of the site. Every little bit helps!

  • Submit Show Information
Know of a show that isn't listed on our website? Shoot us an email at DFWCraftShows.com with whatever information you've got! I will research the show and get it added to our vendor call and/or weekend guide, whichever applies. This allows us to help your event get as much exposure as possible: to vendors, shoppers, and other show recruiters!

Thank you so much for thinking of ways to help keep DFWCS up and running at at the highest level possible. It is all your support and show submissions that makes this site work. So, keep sending in that show information, keep commenting and posting on the site; I love to hear what you think, where you shop, and where you're going to be set up!

We did it! We hit 400 fans last week, and I am thrilled to have you all hear reading the blog and contributing to our show information and database! All 400+ of you are the reason the site works, so it only seems fair to declare...

This week's giveaway is sponsored by Blueskysunburn Creations, art by Jennifer Williams. One lucky DFW Craft Shows reader will WIN (2) 8 X 10 prints of their choice from Jennifer's Etsy shop!

All prints are professionally printed with archival inks on cotton linen paper.
The prints are signed and numbered on the back and come packaged inside cellophane sleeves with heavy chipboard backings.

How to enter: Simply leave a comment (here or on Facebook) and tell us about one fun and interesting vendor that you have met at a local arts & craft event this year! Don't forget to leave an email address if your blogger profile is private, otherwise, I will have no way of contacting you!
