One of our first dates was to the state fair. My hubby picked out a small, delicate silver and black ring as a souvenir. The band may be broken, but it has a special place in my jewelry box. Seeing it always makes me smile!

My Ahpos birthstone ring, she gave it to me when I was 6 she opened her jewelry box and she couldn't speak English so she just pointed in it and pointed to me. I looked through it and found a beautiful blue stone on a ring and thought it was the most beautiful thing I ever seen. Its cheap, turns my finger green but it stays right up front where I can always see it and it's the most precious thing I own.

My mother in law gave me a beautiful brooch; it's a crab (her Zodiac sign was Cancer) and the middle of the brooch is a tiger's eye stone. It was one of her favorite pieces, and she gave it to me after I married my husband. She is gone now, but I like to wear it to remind me of her.

My mother gave me a locket that my dad had given to her in 1940! I love that locket because it symbolizes the love of my dad and mom.

I have a gold Christmas tree brooch that was my Granny's. I'm not big on wearing gold jewelry, but I LOVE wearing her brooch through the holiday season b/c it feels like she's closer. I miss her so much! And I LOVE the earrings above!!!

One of my favorite pieces is my tahitian pearl earring and necklace set that my dad gave me for my graduation. I was not expecting a gift, but I had wanted those pearls for 7 years. It was special because it came from him for a very big milestone in my life :)

I like to look down and see my wedding and engagement rings and think about how lucky I am to have my husband in my life.

My favorite jewelry pieces (yes, there is more than one :p) are the ones a friend recently bought for me. This person holds a special place in my heart, therefore everything I receive from them is more valuable than the stuff I buy for myself. :)

I have so many, but one is an oversized blue flower ring that I got off etsy
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the diamond anniversary ring that my husband gave me on our 7th anniversary. It was such a surprise and so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteChristina - xristya@rock.com - Mine is a coral pendant that my mother had made for me from a piece of Coral from The Black Sea, because my mother came to the United States from Ukraine, and with her first paycheck working at a plant store she took all her money and bought it for me because she wanted me to have nice things (as she didn't, since Ukraine was war-torn as she was growing up).
ReplyDeleteMy bridal ring set are my husband's grandmother's from the 1930s, so different and unlike anything you see today (very vintage-inspired)!
ReplyDeleteA special piece of jewelry in my collection is a necklace that has my mom's original wedding ring on it. She wore the ring for 25 years and then I wore it for 25 years. We both "upgraded" but I treasure the ring.

My garnets were a gift from my previous husband and they are special to me because, no matter how much argued, these gems remind me that he did love me once.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite pieces of jewelry is a toe ring I got while on a trip in California. It was so much fun shopping at this little store on the beach, you actually sat down (like at a shoe store) and they would try various sizes and styles of toe rings on whatever toe you desired. The toe rings are a solid complete circle and don't have that little opening so you end up with a pretty much custom toe ring. They have a very sanitary way of handling the rings and toes too.
