My favorite plush growing up was a "cough bear". My grandfather had heart surgery when I was 6 & he was given a bear in the hospital designed for him to hold against his chest when he coughed. It was scary for me to see him in the hospital but after he came home he gave me the bear & I still have it!

I remember a stuffed poodle that also had a radio on her belly that I loved to listen to. I guess this is when I was a teen rather than a child.

My favorite childhood stuffed animal was a teddy bear. I still have him. My kids were scared of him when they were little because his fur is so worn and scruffy from being dragged around forever. I am now 49 and his has a prominent space in my craft room. They are older and not so scared anymore. I would love to win this sock monkey for my Older Sister. She has been collecting sock monkeys for her first grandchild (not born yet, but soon). Thanks for the opportunity. By the way, I am a new follower to your website. Thanks for such a great site.
ReplyDeleteI have a doggy and a donkey from my childhood. I received them when I was born 9/27/1960

I can't tell what animal mine was... It was a pink and white mix of a cat, a bear and a bunny (it wasn't really pretty) but it was so soft and couldn't go to bed without it. Your little monkey is so cute and I could see my little niece with such a cute plush.
ReplyDeleteI would so love to win! I had a stuffed cat named Cuddles that was given to me when I was born. She lived in the crib after I outgrew it, and I discovered her when we were getting the spare room ready for my little brother. I asked my mom if I could have her, and she said she was already mine. I complained that she was naked one chilly day, so my mom gave me the shirt I was given at the hospital when I was born.
ReplyDeleteI still have Cuddles, and the pink shirt she's word for the past 20 years.
