"Calling all gift vendors…this year’s Taste of Northeast will kick off the holidays with a few new twists and we’d like to invite you to be involved this year in all the wonderful excitement! This fundraiser funds several Arts Council programs like our Summer Arts Camps with 377 children participating this summer. We were able to offer 296 full and/or partial scholarships so once again no child was turned away. Moreover, we, in partnership with the Texas Commission on the Arts, have given over $1.4 million in grants to various entities to support the arts in our region. In conjunction with our 16 partner cities we will present 80 Masterworks concerts throughout the year.

Exciting News!

It's time for a long overdue personal note.  Last year, I shared with you all the very difficult time I was having with the loss of my mother and the next day cancer diagnosis of my father-in-law.  Your support was overwhelming and many of you even took the time to write me personal notes of encouragement and understanding.  I've tried to thank you, but really, there are just not words for the kindness and love you showed me.

You shared my pain and my grief, so naturally I would also like to share with you my joy.

I am overcome with happiness and excitement to announce that my husband and I are expecting!  This December we will be welcoming a baby girl into our lives and we could not be more smitten.  I hope you will share in our excitement as we begin this new adventure with nothing but the biggest of smiles on our faces--and a little bit of nerves, of course!

I also want to thank you for your patience if this means that I might be a bit slower getting events posted lately, but I assure you that I have every intention of keeping the site going strong.  I love this community and I love being able to share this time in my life with you all!

Lots of Local
